Workflow guide

A practical operator-friendly explanation of how this automation works.

How it works

This workflow helps operators and leaders pressure-test “good-looking” signals before they become confident wrong decisions. It uses your Knowledge Base first (so the assistant can answer with your definitions and policies), then routes users into practical, decision-shaped checklists: which branch metrics deserve trust, how to spot dirty signal, when to trust automation, how to compare branches without fooling yourself, and how to build a signal culture that produces decisions—not decks.

The tone is intentionally pragmatic: most bad data isn’t obviously bad. It’s tidy, plausible, and perfectly capable of winning a meeting. This flow gives people a fast way to ask better questions while there’s still time to change the decision.

Key features

  • Knowledge Base–aware assistance first, with routing as a fallback when the question is broader than any single article.
  • One-tap menu that routes to decision checklists (branch metrics, dirty signal, automation vs. judgment, comparisons & attribution, culture).
  • Operator-friendly language designed to prevent “polished noise” from driving action.
  • Built-in escalation path to hand off to a Decision Support team when stakes are high or evidence is ambiguous.

Step-by-step

  1. Trigger: A user starts a conversation with the workflow.
  2. Knowledge Assistant: The assistant attempts to answer using your Knowledge Base (definitions, metric specs, tracking rules). If it can’t fully answer, it proceeds to routing.
  3. Choose what you’re deciding: The workflow shows a button menu with common decision situations.
  4. Route to a checklist: Based on the button selected, the workflow returns a targeted, decision-ready set of checks and “what usually goes wrong first.”
  5. Escalate when needed: If the user selects Escalate to Decision Support, the workflow hands off to a human team for judgment and follow-up.

Setup requirements

  • Calypso Knowledge Base: Recommended. Add or link articles for metric definitions, branch reporting rules, attribution logic, and known data-quality pitfalls.
  • No credentials required for this workflow itself.
  • (Optional) A staffed Decision Support queue/department name to receive escalations.
