Workflow guide

A practical operator-friendly explanation of how this automation works.

How it works

This workflow turns "we have a number" into "we have a decision"—without rewarding the kind of tidy-looking data that’s quietly wrong. It first tries to answer using your Knowledge Base, then offers a short menu of decision-shaped prompts (branch metrics, dirty signals, attribution, automation vs. judgment, and signal culture).

The goal is to help operators and leaders apply practical skepticism before a confident meeting goes off the rails: what to trust, what to verify, what to measure next, and when to stop pretending this is a spreadsheet problem and involve a human reviewer.

Key features

  • Knowledge Base-first responses, with automatic fallback to a guided decision menu
  • Button-based routing into common real-world scenarios (branch numbers, attribution, messy evidence, etc.)
  • Built-in “signal smell tests” that catch definition drift, denominator tricks, and timing artifacts
  • Clear guidance on when automation is safe—and when humans still need to make the call
  • Escalation path for branch comparison/attribution disputes that typically need expert review

Step-by-step

  1. User Input starts the workflow when a user asks a question or describes a situation.
  2. Knowledge Assistant attempts to answer directly from your Knowledge Base; if it can’t, it routes onward.
  3. Pick what you’re deciding presents a button menu so the user can choose the situation that matches their decision.
  4. Based on the button selected:
    1. Branch numbers: trust vs noise returns a practical checklist for deciding which branch metrics deserve trust.
    2. Spot dirty signal (before the meeting) returns a fast “smell test” to catch bad signal early.
    3. Automation vs human judgment explains when to rely on automated signals and when to require human review.
    4. Messy evidence → usable insight gives guidance for turning messy conversations/events into insight without cleaning away the truth.
    5. Comparing branches & attribution routes to Analytics for human review (the place most teams get confidently wrong).
    6. Build a signal culture (not just slides) provides operating habits that make decisions faster and safer.

Setup requirements

  • No external credentials are required.
  • To get the most value from the Knowledge Assistant, connect and maintain your Calypso Knowledge Base content (definitions, metric specs, branch operating notes, attribution rules).
